Yes. After buyers have been qualified as a serious prospect, Conexus Marine Brokers will ask them for a deposit “in trust”. This will be done prior to developing an offer that will be presented to the seller.
We want to make transactions as convenient as possible for you. This is why Conexus Marine Brokers accepts credit cards, e-transfers, cheques/checks, and bank drafts.
Because all transactions and their surrounding circumstances are unique, the total time it takes to close a deal can vary. Conexus Marine Brokers stays on top of the negotiation and closing process to ensure that all formalities are attended to within a timely manner.
Our boat brokers will professionally negotiate with the buyer to get you the best possible offer. We will consult with you on whether or not you want to accept an offer before we initiate the process for closing.
Once the seller accepts an offer, the buyer transfers the remaining payment to Conexus Marine Brokers. Our brokers then arrange for the seller to obtain and sign all necessary documents for the transfer of the asset. The transfer documentation is presented to the buyer. Once the buyer has been given all necessary documentation of ownership, Conexus Marine Brokers will transfer the remaining payment (minus the commission fee) to the seller.
Conexus Marine Brokers will coordinate with a professional boat delivery service to ensure that your boat is safely delivered to the port location you specify. Deliveries will be performed by appropriately licensed captains and crew members who will take all precautions necessary to keep the boat in as-sold condition throughout the journey.
Delivery cost will depend on several factors:
-
The time it takes to complete the delivery
-
The number of crew members required to handle the vessel
-
Number of dockings and the fees charged at each port
-
Amount of fuel required for the journey
-
Amount of food and supplies needed for the crew
-
Maintenance tasks that will need to be performed to sustain boat’s condition
Before delivery is arranged, CMB will provide you with a quote that details all of this, including plans for the most efficient route. After delivery is completed, the crew will document the boat’s condition upon arrival.
Buyers may forfeit their “hold” on a vessel and their deposit if the transfer of payments or any other stipulated actions do not take place by the deadlines specified in the sales agreement, and no arrangements have been made to extend these deadlines.
